Spider-Man Brand New Day has become one of the biggest box-office stories of 2026, with Tom Holland’s latest adventure continuing to attract audiences more than a month after its release.
The Marvel blockbuster has already passed several major milestones, overtaking previous Spider-Man films and some of the biggest releases in Marvel history. It is now closing in on one of Hollywood’s toughest records: the all-time domestic box-office crown.
Released in North America on July 31, 2026, the film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and stars Holland alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal.
Its staying power has been particularly impressive. Rather than relying only on a huge opening weekend, Brand New Day has continued pulling audiences into cinemas, spending six consecutive weekends at the top of the North American box office.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Box Office
The film has earned approximately $923 million domestically and more than $2.4 billion worldwide, placing it among the highest-grossing movies ever released.
Its opening weekend was equally remarkable, generating roughly $360 million in the US and Canada and immediately establishing the film as one of 2026’s biggest theatrical releases.
Another record arrived when Brand New Day crossed $900 million domestically just 36 days into its run, becoming the fastest film to reach the milestone.
That achievement has put Spider-Man remarkably close to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which remains the highest-grossing movie in domestic box-office history at approximately $936.6 million.
Less than $14 million now separates the two films.
A New High for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
The success of Brand New Day has also rewritten the rankings for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies.
Spider-Man: Homecoming earned around $335 million domestically and $880 million worldwide, while Spider-Man: Far From Home collected approximately $391 million in North America and $1.13 billion globally.
Then came Spider-Man: No Way Home, which became a worldwide phenomenon, earning approximately $815 million domestically and $1.92 billion globally.
Those numbers made No Way Home the clear box-office leader of Holland’s Spider-Man era. Brand New Day has now comfortably moved beyond it.
Its domestic total is even higher than the combined North American earnings of Homecoming and Far From Home, underlining the scale of its theatrical run.
Spider-Man Passes Avengers: Endgame Domestically
Perhaps the most striking comparison is with Avengers: Endgame.
The 2019 Marvel blockbuster finished with approximately $858 million at the North American box office. With more than $923 million, Brand New Day has already passed that figure.
It has also moved well beyond Avengers: Infinity War, which earned approximately $679 million domestically.
Worldwide, however, Endgame remains ahead.
The Avengers epic earned roughly $2.8 billion globally, compared with more than $2.4 billion for Brand New Day. Spider-Man has already passed Infinity War’s approximately $2.05 billion worldwide total, but catching Endgame would require a considerably longer international run.
Where Brand New Day Ranks Worldwide
The latest figures place Brand New Day among a very small group of movies to have crossed $2 billion worldwide.
James Cameron’s Avatar remains the global box-office leader with approximately $2.92 billion, followed by Avengers: Endgame at around $2.8 billion.
Brand New Day, with more than $2.4 billion, now sits ahead of Avatar: The Way of Water, which earned approximately $2.32 billion worldwide.
Its domestic performance is even closer to making history.
The Force Awakens remains the benchmark with approximately $936.6 million, but Spider-Man is now within touching distance of that record.
Can Spider-Man Take the Domestic Crown?
The biggest question is whether Spider-Man: Brand New Day can complete its climb and overtake The Force Awakens.
With less than $14 million separating the films, the record remains achievable if Spider-Man continues attracting audiences during the remainder of its theatrical run.
Competition from new September releases could slow its progress, but six consecutive weekends at No. 1 demonstrate the film’s staying power.
Even if it ultimately falls short, Brand New Day has already transformed Spider-Man’s box-office history.
It has become the franchise’s highest-grossing movie, surpassed Avengers: Endgame domestically and climbed into the top tier of worldwide releases.
For Tom Holland, the result marks another major achievement in his run as Peter Parker. For Spider-Man, it shows that the character remains one of cinema’s most powerful audience draws.
Whether the domestic record falls or survives, Brand New Day has already secured its place among Hollywood’s biggest box-office successes.
