Official statistics from the Dubai International Airport (DXB) released Thursday indicates that the passener traffic is gaining more momentum at the airport as it surpassed the 10 million mark for the second consecutive quarter. Moreover, DXB announced that 5.5 million visitors braced its passenger traffic in March 2022 alone.

The overall outlook for the year remains strong, with annual traffic now expected to reach 58.3 million, which might exceed initial forecasts by a significant margin.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports

India remains its top visitor destination reaching 1.6 million, followed by Saudi Arabia at 1.1 million. The two nations are closely followed by Pakistan, where passenger volume stands at 997,000, and the UK, with 934,000 passengers.

This official announcement from Dubai International Airport (DXB) came after it crossed 29.1 million in annual traffic in 2021, which retains its position as the world’s busiest international hub for eight consecutive years.
