Travellers flying between the UAE and Kuwait are being urged to confirm their flight details directly with their airline after several carriers announced temporary cancellations and schedule changes on selected services.

The latest travel disruptions come as airlines continue to monitor regional security developments and adjust operations where necessary. While flights on certain UAE Kuwait routes have been suspended, airports across the UAE, including Dubai International Airport, Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah International Airport, continue to operate.

Although airport operations remain largely unaffected, airline schedules can change with little notice. Travellers are therefore encouraged to stay informed through official airline communication channels before starting their journey to the airport.

Airlines announce selected service changes

Major UAE based airlines have temporarily suspended a number of Kuwait-bound flights as a precaution.

Emirates has cancelled selected services between Dubai and Kuwait, while Etihad Airways has also confirmed temporary disruptions on some Abu Dhabi Kuwait flights. Air Arabia has announced cancellations on certain services operating from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to Kuwait.

Passengers affected by these changes are being contacted by their airlines and offered available rebooking options where applicable. Carriers have also encouraged customers to keep their contact details updated so they can receive the latest notifications by SMS or email.

Airlines have advised customers not to rely on previously issued boarding passes or travel confirmations without checking for the latest operational updates. Those travelling for business or connecting to international destinations should also verify whether any changes to regional routes could affect the rest of their itinerary.

Why are flights being affected?

Airlines said the operational changes are linked to the evolving security situation in the region. Aviation authorities and carriers continue to review conditions and make decisions based on safety assessments.

Because the situation remains dynamic, flight schedules may change at short notice. Airlines are therefore advising passengers to rely on official updates rather than older itineraries or third-party booking platforms.

The temporary adjustments are being introduced as a precaution while airlines continue to assess regional airspace conditions. Similar operational measures are common during periods of heightened uncertainty, with passenger and crew safety remaining the highest priority.

UAE airports continue normal operations

Despite the route-specific cancellations, there has been no announcement of a wider suspension of commercial operations at UAE airports.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah airports continue to handle domestic and international departures and arrivals, although travellers may experience adjustments on selected regional routes.

Passengers connecting through the UAE are advised to monitor their itineraries closely, particularly if their journey includes destinations that could be affected by regional airspace restrictions.

Airport authorities continue to recommend that passengers arrive early, especially during the busy summer travel season, to allow enough time for check-in, baggage processing and security procedures.

What travellers should do before flying

Anyone planning to travel over the coming days should take a few extra precautions before heading to the airport.

Travellers are encouraged to:

  • Check the latest flight status on their airline’s official website or mobile app.
  • Monitor email and SMS notifications for schedule changes.
  • Arrive at the airport with sufficient time for check-in and security procedures.
  • Contact the airline directly if they need to change or rebook their reservation.
  • Review travel insurance coverage if their journey has been disrupted.

Passengers with connecting flights should also confirm that every leg of their journey remains on schedule. Those who booked through a travel agent are encouraged to stay in contact with their booking provider for the latest travel assistance and rebooking options.

Following official airline guidance can help passengers avoid unnecessary delays and ensure they receive the latest operational information.

Airlines continue monitoring the situation

Airlines across the region have stated that they will continue reviewing operations as circumstances develop. Additional changes could be introduced if required, while services may also resume once conditions are considered suitable for normal operations.

Passengers travelling between the UAE and Kuwait are therefore encouraged to remain flexible and check for updates before departing for the airport.

As the regional situation evolves, further travel advisories or schedule revisions may be issued by airlines and aviation authorities. Travellers should continue relying on official airline announcements for the most up-to-date information, as flight schedules may be revised throughout the day.
