Dubai Fashion Week is returning to Dubai Design District (d3) this October, bringing another season of runway shows, new collections and industry networking to the city.
The Spring/Summer 2027 edition will take place from October 22 to 26, 2026, with designers from the region and beyond expected to take part. Ahead of the five-day event, applications have opened for designers hoping to join the official programme.
The return comes as Dubai continues to build its profile as a fashion and creative hub, with the event providing a meeting point for designers, buyers, retailers, media and other industry professionals.
SS27 collections take centre stage
The October edition will focus on Spring/Summer 2027, giving designers a platform to introduce their latest collections to an industry audience.
Runway shows will remain at the heart of Dubai Fashion Week, but the event is about more than what happens on the catwalk. For participating labels, it is also an opportunity to meet buyers, connect with media and develop relationships that could help their businesses grow.
Both established and emerging designers are expected to feature, although the full lineup has not yet been announced. Details of individual shows and the complete schedule are expected closer to October.
That leaves plenty of anticipation around which regional and international names will appear this season and what trends will emerge from the SS27 collections.
Designer applications are open
Designers interested in being part of the upcoming edition can now apply through the official Dubai Fashion Week platform.
Applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee, which will determine the final lineup for the event.
For emerging labels in particular, being selected can offer valuable exposure. Dubai has also been creating new opportunities for UAE based designers to develop their brands. Presenting a collection at a major industry event gives designers the chance to put their work in front of people who could play a role in their next stage of growth, from retailers and buyers to journalists and other fashion professionals.
An application deadline has not been announced. Designers hoping to participate may therefore want to prepare their submissions early rather than waiting until closer to the event.
Buyers Programme puts business in focus
Beyond the runway, Dubai Fashion Week will also continue its focus on the commercial side of fashion through its Buyers Programme.
The programme gives retailers and fashion buyers a closer look at participating collections, creating opportunities for conversations that may eventually lead to new retail partnerships.
Showroom appointments, collection previews and direct meetings can give designers more time to explain their brands and pieces than a runway show alone allows.
For a growing label, that access can make a significant difference. Fashion weeks generate attention, but building relationships with the people responsible for deciding what reaches stores and new markets can turn that attention into something more lasting.
Dubai’s fashion ambitions continue to grow
Dubai Fashion Week was co-founded by Dubai Design District and the Arab Fashion Council, combining d3’s creative community with a wider fashion industry network.
Dubai Design District has become home to designers, studios and creative businesses, making it a natural setting for an event that aims to connect local and regional talent with the international fashion industry.
Dubai’s position also gives the event a distinctive role. Designers from the Middle East and surrounding markets can showcase their collections closer to home while still reaching an audience that includes international buyers, retailers and media.
For the city, each edition adds another chapter to its efforts to establish Dubai as a destination not only for shopping and luxury retail, but also for fashion creation, business and emerging talent.
What to expect this October
Much of the SS27 programme is still to be revealed. The designer lineup, runway timings and further event details are expected to become clearer as Dubai Fashion Week approaches.
What is confirmed is that the event will return to Dubai Design District from October 22 to 26, 2026, with applications for designers already open.
Once the shows begin, attention will naturally fall on the collections walking the runway. But some of the most important moments may happen away from it — in showrooms, meetings and conversations between designers and the people who can help take their brands into new markets.
With regional creativity gaining a larger international audience, Dubai Fashion Week SS27 will once again give the city an opportunity to show how its fashion scene is evolving — and where it hopes to go next.
