The Dubai based carrier Flydubai has officially announced the resumption and expansion of its network operations into Syria with the launch of a new daily non-stop service to Aleppo International Airport (ALP). Scheduled to commence on July 20, 2026, Aleppo becomes Flydubai’s second active destination in Syria, joining the capital city, Damascus. The strategic move strongly reinforces the airline’s long-standing commitment to opening up previously underserved markets.
The introduction of this daily service officially restores a vital direct air link between Dubai and Syria’s second-largest city after a suspension lasting nearly 14 years. By operating everyday flights to this sector, the carrier is actively addressing a clear regional travel demand.
Strengthening Regional and Economic Connections
Commenting on the return to the northern city, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at Flydubai, stated that the launch marks an important milestone in the airline’s network expansion strategy. He noted that the primary mandate of the carrier has always been to support Dubai’s aviation hub by creating direct air links to previously underserved markets. Al Ghaith emphasized that by providing reliable, daily operations to Aleppo, the airline is not only catering to a strong existing demand for direct travel, but is also fostering closer economic, cultural, and familial ties between the UAE and Syria.
Historically renowned as a critical commercial crossroads and recognized as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Aleppo represents a significant market. The destination sees consistently high demand from regional business travel, visiting friends and relatives (VFR), and specialized cargo transport. The official resumption of these direct flights provides a vital link for the Syrian diaspora residing in the UAE and the wider Gulf region, significantly reducing travel times compared to indirect routing options.
Flight Timings and Booking Details
According to official schedule parameters, the daily service will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) under the established Flydubai and Emirates codeshare partnership. This structural agreement allows passengers to travel seamlessly on a single ticket with through check-in, providing complete access to the combined network of both partner airlines.
The designated daily flight logistics are scheduled as follows:
- Flight FZ1191: Will depart Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 11:00 AM, arriving at Aleppo International Airport (ALP) at 1:40 PM local time.
- Flight FZ1192: The return leg will leave Aleppo at 2:40 PM, touching down back in Dubai at 7:20 PM local time.
Initial booking documentation shows that return Economy Lite fares from Dubai start from Dh1,800, while premium Business Class fares start from Dh8,000.
Building on Existing Damascus Growth
The introduction of the new daily service comes at a highly opportunistic time to support increased travel demand during the peak travel season. Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at Flydubai, noted that since the carrier resumed flights to Damascus last summer, they have been highly encouraged by the strong demand for travel on the route. He added that the resumption of the non-stop service to Aleppo successfully builds on this momentum, providing customers with greater choice and more convenient travel options between Dubai and Syria.
